The years between the two World Wars saw enormous change, including in the world of organ music. Just as the Organ Reform movement brought  instruments closer in sound and character to their baroque ancestors, the great symphonic composers of the day were drawn to write for the organ.

In my research for this album, which will be recorded in early 2027 for Delphian Records, I stumbled upon a remarkable phenomenon: many of those composers wrote just one major work for the instrument. This album collects those unique pieces together, with the aim of drawing in lovers of orchestral, piano and chamber music to the organ through the composers they already admire.

Sibelius, Copland, Nielsen, Shostakovich, Britten, Tippett, Tailleferre, Janáček and Schönberg: these great names breathed new vision into the organ's repertoire, showing that composing for the organ was not simply the work of organists themselves.

This year I am touring the United States, Germany and France​, sharing music with lovers of the instrument. Now is a chance for those audiences to help me bring great organ music the recognition it so richly deserves. With your help we can achieve that mission.
